A project is a single optimization with a specific scope that’s made up of multiple ideas.
Projects are defined by an audience, optimization metric, contexts, variables, and test variants. A project can have multiple versions with different scopes.
Steps to create a new project in the Manager
- Open the Manager and you’ll see a list of Projects.
- Click the NEW PROJECT button.
- Enter a project name and description, and select SAVE.
- You can change the project details later.

- Your new project now appears in the Projects list.
- To open the project's settings, click the box under the Draft column heading in your project row.
- To configure the project:
- Select an Audience.
- Choose from an existing audience, or build a new one.
- Select the Optimization Metric.
- This is the event that your project will use to report performance.
- Choose from an existing event, or create a new one.
- Select the Import Variables option from the MANAGE VARIABLES dropdown to import a project from the Web Editor.
- Select an Audience.
