This article explains how to build a custom audience using default attributes from the schema.
A great use case for custom audiences is knowing when a user is logged in. Provided your project pushes that information to the context, you can add it to the organization schema and use it to define a 'logged in' audience.
You can build an audience with a custom attribute without adding it to the schema first. If the attribute is not part of the schema, use the custom attribute option and enter the context value manually.
The schema step is required if you want to filter a live session-based project and access the attribute from the audience builder.
Steps to build a custom audience
- Select Audiences from the side menu.
- Click the NEW AUDIENCE button to open up the audience builder.
- Click ADD CRITERIA if it's the first entry, or click the plus button, and select the Default Attribute option.
- Any attribute you add to the organization schema shows up under Default Attributes
- Selecting Custom Attribute lets you enter a value on-the-fly.
- Select an option from the list of logical operators and enter a value. For example, the custom attribute "test.field" equals "true".
- You can now use your custom audience in a new project.
