How to create variants in the Web Editor

A variant is used to modify page elements, styles, layouts, and functionality inside a context. Each variant is a single testable idea consisting of CSS and JavaScript.

As optimizations evolve, variants are combined into combinations by the Evolv algorithm to identify the best-performing set of changes.

To create variants in the Web Editor

1. Select Edit Mode from the dropdown in the top-right of the Web Editor.
   • Or select View > Edit Mode from the menu.
2. Click the plus (“+”) icon next to a variable to add a variant.
   • Enter a name for the variant.
     
3. Add your CSS and/or JavaScript into the appropriate sections on the right.
